You've asked it to the right people at the right place. Here, on SN noone is gonna say that you buy a new one.
Haha
There are cases to buy a new car.
My car has treated me pretty well, I have had it for 11 years.
I have only put on 55k on it.

55k isn't a small amount. I suppose you could have bought two new cars in this amount. I exactly don't know. Not aware about car prices in US. Just calculated price based on India's car market. We can buy at least 4 mid size SUVs or Sedans in this price.

55k mile, not price.
I bought the car way back 11 years ago for 2k.
Im sure I have put over that much in maintenance.

I bought a volvo from 1999 with 300 hp for 3000euro with 280.000km 6years ago.
Still driving it. 4 people crashed into it in 6years, but its a volvo, so only small scratches :)
2 people while parking hit and run, so i got no money. The third who crashed into it in the winter called police so i got 2500euro from insurance. Repaired it for 100euro :)
The last person who crashed into it was a old lady on the autobahn. I felt really sorry for her because her car was really damaged and the volvo only had a scratch. (the back of a car is always harder than the front)
I belive in carma so i told her its ok. The car already paid for itself.
I had to invest less then 300euro a year for repairs and service.
The car is worth more than i paid 6years ago, but only in fiat money.
In Bitcoin standard i lost a lot of money.
