Hello stackers!!!
Two things of the same nature and on the same subject coincided today.
First came when I woke up. As usual I was reading from 'The Big Book of Quotes' and came across Oscar Wilde's this quotation—
Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit but the highest form of intelligence
If that's not enough food for mind about sarcasm, the second thing happened when I and @siggy47 entered into a discussion about terrorism and the problem of illegal immigrants here; #554228.
As the discussion started on a serious note, I was readily throwing in some serious comments. But, to my surprise, @grayruby suddenly jumped in and made me realise that the tone of our discussion has taken en routing to a bit of sarcasm. He asked #555568 me if the people in India are generally non-sarcastic in discussions. I replied that people in my nation tend to know no middle approach while talking.
It's needless now to say that which event actually prompted me to ask all my dignified fellows on SN that...

Who do you think is the most sarcastic stacker among all of us?

Do you also realise sarcasm as the highest form of intelligence? And why?

In my interest of subjects while reading I place 'Sarcasm at the top'. I didn't know about this quote before but it sounds like it is 100% correct. And why because it makes you think out of the box.
Answering your first question is difficult because all stackers (who I often read) seem to have this trait in common. But to say who has the highest degree of sarcasm I must say it's @thebitcoinbugle.

I strive for irony over sarcasm.
I do think sarcasm correlates with intelligence, but it's also pretty emotionally lazy.

To tell you the truth, You an I are on the same page.
'Emotionally lazy'—so rightly phrased.
Irony is definitely something that you can grasp as soon as you find it. But, sarcasm, the wait can continue sometimes and if not for others making you aware about falling a prey to it, you don't realise. (As happens with me often).

It's 'heavy sarcasm' filled with 'reverse irony'.
I must say, I will relive all my days of college classes where my teacher used to define differences among all poetic devices. This is turning out to be fun.

Somehow that Oscar Wilde quote morphed in my mind over several years into "Sarcasm is the poor mans humor".
Maybe it is a sign of intelligence, but it can become a bit repetitive with some.
Feels like there's a baseline of boring sarcasm that one has to overcome to achieve consistent humor.

There's a huge difference between humour and sarcasm, imo.
Humour is to 'laugh with everyone'.
While sarcasm is like a witty remark that is full of knowledge and show of high intelligence.

There is kind of a tail effect to sarcasm, in my experience.
Stupid people don't get it, but, interestingly, some of the smartest people I know (think theoretical physicists, etc) don't get it either. You say something sarcastic, and they respond point-blank: "why did you say that, that is not true". The Sheldon meme not getting sarcasm in The Big Bang Theory is truer than one might think.

Seems like India is only 2nd to US.
It also clearly depicts that democratic countries are doing much better in terms of showcasing exuberance of free speech through sarcasm.
