I'm currently sitting in the Austria of India in the Himalyas and missed reporting for AFG vs Uganda match. But that got so boring in the end that I thought it was worth missing.
Thanks @MANI for your consistent support for the event and cricket.
Again this is a clash between two neighbours. Let's take a look...

Toss Update -

Scotland have won the toss and have opted to bat

Pitch Report -

64m and 61m square boundaries, around 70m down the ground. Same pitch that was used for Oman-Namibia game. The ball kept low, there was variable bounce. A tricky wicket for batters.

Preview -

There have been a few instances when Scotland have managed to put up a brave fight against England in the past, however, this English unit looks as solid as ever. Explosive top-order batters, world-class all-rounders and a fiery bowling attack. Scotland on the other hand don't have much experience, so would be interesting to see if they come up with a quality performance. For England, Salt and Buttler - both had an outstanding Indian Premier League, while Will Jacks too impressed with a century in one of the league games. But the wickets here are contrasting to what they were back in India. Let's hope we get to see an interesting clash.
Thanks and hope this match takes it to another level...
You're welcome! and hope you're enjoying your trip there.
Looking forward to see England play tonight. My favorites for the tournament. Hope its a not a one sided match.

Yes!!! And here's one view for my Cricket lovers where I'm right now...

Dharamsala vibes..
reply
It's much more beautiful than Dharmshala. It's Munsiyari in Uttarakhand.
reply
Looks amazing. Is it far above sea level?
reply
It's just below Kailash Mountain range. I'm right now in ranges in elevation from about 5,500 metres (18,000 ft) to about 3,870 metres (12,700 ft) at its snout.
reply
That is absolutely beautiful. I think you must organize a SN meetup there.
reply
Sounds absolutely interesting! I'm interested. Could you please describe the idea a bit more? I mean how and when?
If only it was possible lol

The game has been abandoned!

Right then, that's the first abandoned game of T20 World Cup 2024. Only 10 overs of play was possible in the past 5 hours or so with multiple rain breaks. The Scotland openers were impressive as they scored 90 runs in the allotted 10 overs. The match was poised on an interesting note with a revised target of 109 off 10 overs for England, but rain has had the final say.
reply
This would've been an interesting chase but damned rain come to the rescue for England. Nevertheless 1 important point for Scotland.
reply
Wow! Breathtaking view!!!!

Update

The game is gonna start in 10 minutes. No overs lost.
reply
That's a good news!
reply
Looks like the rain has stopped. We should have a start time soon. Can see the groundstaff with the super soppers out. Positive signs!
reply
Just came back from work and seen the match has delayed. Let's hope rain doesn't have much affect on the match as conditions are already difficult.
reply
Looks like that damp patch is going to delay things though…
reply
Hope the delay deosn't impact the game and overs are not reduced and its a complete 40 over game.
reply
I think there is a 90-min window?
reply
You're right...
reply
Fingers crossed we are on!

Update:

The target for England will be 109 in 10 overs as DLS has done its bit. Scotland will take it. But they would be feeling that the last two overs could have gone for more. They added only 18 runs in the last two overs. Rains came in when Scotland were 51 for no loss in 6.2 overs. It ate up enough time and the game was truncated to 10 overs a side.
reply

It has been reduced to a 10-overs-a-side game.

reply
That's an interesting twist! Shorter version may favor the chasing side.
reply

Rain is back

51/0
reply
reply

After 4 overs it's 28 for 0

reply

Make no mistake!! Scotland have some serious fire power in their line up.

reply
And people laughed at @siggy47 for his pick…
reply
More a guffaw
reply
Scotland were cooking lol... Before rain interrupted the play.. would've loved to see where they ended up you know. Brilliant strat from them, ruined by rain. And maybe @siggy47 was upto something 👀
reply

Update:

Scotland's cautious start.

6/0 in 1 over.

reply
Salt and Buttler are a great pairing for each other and have enjoyed watching them play in other formats… but who knows how this is going. Scottish weather..
reply
It's either one sided matches or right down to the tire so far in the tournament. Hoping for a much more balanced game tonight! Even though I have predicted England to win and are my favorites but still want Scotts to do well.
