If I remember correctly, he had to give away his company, and then he left China in a hurry. Ended up in Japan teaching for a while.

I remember reading that he might have been imprisoned for a while in china. After that, China had him do a public appearance to show he wasnt dead. He was so thin. Then sometime after that he reappeared in Japan.
