Howdy Cricket Lovers!!
Welcome to the match between Scotland and Oman! This is important match not only for Scotland but also for England's, who ae defending champions, chances of making it to the playoffs. Let's find out..
The action moves to North Sound as Sir Vivian Richards Stadium is set to host its first game of the T20 World Cup. Scotland have flown under the radar so far but they have been quite impressive. In their opening match, they had England under the pump with the bat before the rain led to a washout. The Scots faced Namibia in their second match and pulled off a fine chase on a tricky pitch. Meanwhile, their opponents, Oman, have lost two out of two and are placed at the bottom of the table in Group B.
However, the Asian side has been quite good so far. They did appreciably well to take the match against Namibia to a Super Over. Oman were also quite good in the first 14 overs of the match against Australia before a blistering knock from Stoinis took the game away from them. Making it to the Super Eights seems to be an uphill task for Oman but they still have a mathematical chance. If Scotland win today, they will move to the top of the table and bolster their chances of making it to the Super Eights.
A win for Scotland here would mean England could no longer overtake them on points, leaving the defending champions needing wins in their last two matches against Namibia and Oman (plus a favour from Australia who play Scotland last) to even draw level with the Scots on five points. That would likely see the second qualification spot decided by net run rate, a fact of which the Scots must surely be keenly aware. A big win here could buy them insurance should they lose their final match to the Australians, and they won't want to leave it for that match if they can help it.

Toss Update -

Oman have won the toss and have opted to bat

Pitch Report -

The match will be the first of the tournament to be played at the Sir Vivian Richards ground at Antigua - traditionally a low-scoring venue with an average first innings score of just 123 in T20Is. But the venue's come a long way since it was famously described as "Antigua's 366th beach", and word on the ground is that current batting conditions are better than is typical.

If Scotland wins it, I doubt England would make it to the quarterfinals.

England's run rate is very poor at the moment and if Scotland wins today England can't cross them on points. They will need to improve their net run rate expotentially.

That really impacts how you play if you win the toss. Aggressive play is realistically limited to the top 4 in the batting lineup of this team. With a team like Australia it goes much deeper.

Very true!!!
