Hello 👋
I'm somewhat new and somewhat experienced. I got my first computer in 1989. I'm somewhat tech savvy, somewhat bitcoin illiterate.
I first heard the term "bitcoin" in 2017 (was busy raising a family). I didn't learn what bitcoin was until January 2021. I shitcoined and used custodians until this year. Went bitcoin maxi and got my coins out of celsius into self custody in May.
Now I'm on my journey to anonymity and self sovereignty. I'm running a dedicated windows machine (because I know windows very well having used it for 33 years). I have bitcoin core synced to Sparrow wallet. I'm happy to help anybody get this far.
I want to run a lightning node but don't want to use Pierre's node launcher because I already have bitcoin core. I'm looking for an alternative windows lightning node.
I just want to run all my transactions, bitcoin and lnd, through my own nodes which have a decent level of anonymity since I've run everything through tor the entire existence of the machine.
Any help is appreciated!
Electrum let's u run a lightning channel and watchtower.. I think that's as close as you're gonna get. I'm actually raising funds to open my first channel on electrum. My goal is 200k sats capacity and right now I have a little over 100k saved. Just been letting people pitch in as they please as it's something I don't have the ability to put the funds into myself at the moment.

As others have said, things are usually easier on Linux.
If the only reason you want to run on Windows is really your time constraint, then there is a simpler solution for you, and even better than finding the way to run your software on Windows: you can just buy a pre-built umbrel node, like this one. There are other companies selling similar ones.
It's plug and play, you will be able to access and use through your usual Windows machine.

Time and money :) if I do buy it'll probably be ronin

Most people would recommend running on linux and ideally dedicated hardware. Googling around, there seem to be quite a few guides on running lnd on windows.

Additionally, I don't have time to learn Linux. I'm the sole provider for a family of 6, finishing a PhD, and just trying to use the skills I have. Might seem like an excuse, but I've come a long way just to get here. Maybe I'll just stick to trusting 3rd parties for lightning use.

You could get the Start9 Embassy One. It's an appliance that provides a web-based GUI you could access from your Windows PC.
Or run Umbrel or Citadel on your own hardware.
All three let you run Bitcoin and Lightning nodes along with other apps you install from an app store.

That might be what I'm looking for!

The problem is GUI. I don't know of any windows GUI.

I recently went through a similar journey. I had bitcoin node and didn't want to run an all-in-one solution. I pieced together bitcoind, tor, lnd, and thunderhub through docker containers. That could work for Windows too. If you're interested I might post a docker compose write up

Please do. I hope I see it!
