If you know of an avenue to send lightning invoices over 1.8M sats, I'd love to know! I haven't tried in a bit because every time I have historically it hasn't worked.

Using Bitcoin in Factoring Invoices

One thing to keep in mind when using lightning in a procure to pay process is understanding the size of the transaction. If you want to buy an item more than $1K USD then you need to leverage on chain, as often lightning won't support larger than 1.8M sats (at least many of the wallets that I use). 

For import/export businesses it makes perfect sense to leverage bitcoin. Businesses in the U.S may be more shy due to the lack of education on the accounting treatment and the increased regulatory scrutiny.
