Definitely a possibility, though the old adage of “not your keys, not your coin” is apt here : not your miners, not your hash.
If you wanted to minimise the compromise of an industrial miner maybe look into Wilson mining- you provide the miner, they host - fantastic outfit, have a great community rep. Food for thought
