Being against the morality police sounds good...

Being against force used against non-violent action is always a good thing.
Its more than "morality police". Murder is immoral across all cultures. Using violence (police) against someone who has done no violence is an issue in the US and most democracies. These guys just take it even further.

I guess that helicopter crash was more convenient than it appeared, but I'm not sure presidents in Iran are anything more than something to be wagged by Khamenei.
It sounds like Iranians are protesting the regime by not voting:
the turnout was the lowest since the Islamic revolution in 1979
On Iranian social media, the Persian hashtag "traitorous minority" went viral, urging people not to vote for either of the candidates and calling anyone who did a "traitor".
This sounds like a threat:
In a rare move, he acknowledged that some Iranians do not accept the current regime. "We listen to them and we know what they are saying and it is not like they are hidden and not seen," Mr Khamenei said.

I'd forgotten about that suspicious chopper crash

Exactly.
In the US it seems that many do not get that NOT voting is also a statement.

He promised to bring moderation back to the government. Am wait to see what reforms he is hoping make?
reply
I pray he does, and I pray that he is thwarted by the fundamentalists or the western antagonists that profit off the conflict with the west.

It's been such a plight in Iranian politics over the years that finding one true reformer isn't that ready. Waiting what reforms he can bring!
