We are seeking a WORLD CLASS UI/UX designer, with experience in creating consumer applications - both mobile and web - for a Nomad & Travel Social Networking App.
Who are we?
Satlantis is the world’s first “travel and community social network.” Imagine Instagram meets TripAdvisor meets Google Places. It’s a travel directory, social network and merchant map, all in one.
We are funded, and have a team of 8 people across product, data, Nostr, ops and engineering. We are all hands on product development right now and if you want to help shape the future of this product, and of global travel & nomading, THIS is your chance.
The Role
We’re looking for someone who can lead the design of both our web and mobile products, and also take on the responsibility of establishing our brand presence, and guiding our junior designer who is in charge of general graphics for socials, etc.
In this position, you will be responsible for the creation of wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups, as well as conducting user research and testing to validate design decisions.
We have quite a mature design style and aesthetic having worked with one of the BEST Nostr designers in the world - but the workload is too much for that person to handle considering their other life commitments, so we’re looking for someone to take this on as their full time, focused career role.
This is a REMOTE role, with a healthy salary and, for the right candidate, an opportunity for a significant equity stake in the company.
Key responsibilities:
- Able to work with and provide our engineering team with both low-fi UX flows and hi-fi UI designs for both mobile & web.
- Own the Satlantis brand and product
- Work closely with the head or product, and CEO to turn ideas and roadmap into beautiful product designs that the engineering team can build and customers will use
- Push the boundaries of what’s possible for social networking
- Interview users, travelers, nomads and learn about what they want to help guide product design strategy & decisions
- Mentor our junior graphics designer
- Work with our Nostr-design consultant (who has led the product design thus far)
- Work with Figma
- Facilitate workshops with the team and design sprints.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
Must have
- Native or Fluent English
- At least 8 years experience working on product design (both UI and UX) with at least 5 years in Mobile
- At least 5 years experience in consumer applications
Nice to have
- This is a remote role, and our preference is that you’re either in Australia or Canada.
- Previous experience with Social Media applications
- Previous experience with mobile Fintech applications
- Previous experience with, or knowledge of Bitcoin
