Thanks for sharing, I really enjoy reading VDH's columns, and this one did not disappoint. His understanding of history and ability to see and articulate how it rhymes with our current crazy times is second to none.
On a related note, Kamala is so unpopular that even her race and gender would not be enough to make her a serious presidential candidate, but you never know, because we don't live in the age of reason and common sense anymore.
Her 2020 campaign was so inept that she ended her campaign in December 2019.
When she was twelve, Harris and her sister moved with their mother to Montreal, Quebec, where Shyamala had accepted a research and teaching position at the McGill University-affiliated Jewish General Hospital.
Harris attended a French-speaking primary school, Notre-Dame-des-Neiges, then F.A.C.E. School, and finally Westmount High School[c] in Westmount, Quebec, graduating in 1981.
Her mother Shyamala was Tamil Brahmin born in Madras.
No one speaks about her adolescence in Montreal.
She went to historically black Howard University. I've always wondered why she didn't go to Stanford or the Ivy League or similar. A black woman can't get into an elite college during a time of affirmative action? Her grades and test scores must be awful. I would love to see her transcipt along with Obama's transcript.
Kamala's sister Maya graduated from Cal Berkeley and Stanford Law.
