I really like dua lipas stuff. She may be getting a lot of of heat at the moment for all of the sampling her tracks have been doing... But in my view thats on her writing team not her.

This is beautiful. 😍😍 Her voice is gorgeous, got a lovely breathiness to it but without sounding like she's straining. Gorgeous version of a beautiful song. Well done to both artists.

Song for someone!

U2!! We are getting after it today πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ strong submission. Massive massive band and a massive track.

That riff gets sampled a lot, even white towns was sampled from Lew Stone.
And some people will say that is only a slightly adapted version of the imperial march from star wars. (You can kinda hear that sure).
Wicked song and that riff is sampled so much because it's iconic.
reply
hahahha, didn't make the imperial march connection

You heard it here first: I'm retiring by beatmaker moniker John Dope and as such, I'm releasing an album consisting of 37 beats I've made in the timeframe of approx. 2010-2023. Some of the instrumentals on the album are what I've rapped on myself, some I've already released as just single beats, some I have never posted anywhere before. Here's a sneak peak of what the album is going to feature, an ominous trap beat from 2019 called "Stranger Things"

Kontext man this is is sick. The album is going to be great, I look forward to it.

GWAR just dropped a cover/parody of "I'm Just Ken":

How have I not heard of these GWAR guys... They're right up my street with their gimmick. I love a good gimmick! Like Windrose for example with their dwarven metal or Lordi and their demon costumes. Always loved a band that didn't take themselves too seriously and just had a laugh with it.
And this is both hilarious and really really good. I'm going to have to look these guys up they're brilliant.
reply
Oh, man -- I genuinely envy you getting to discover GWAR for the first time. They're legends.
reply
They're hilarious and I love it.
Have you heard of bands like Nanowar of steel? Windrose? Lordi? I'm fairly sure I've shared them here, but you may have missed them. They're brilliant.
reply
I've definitely heard of Lordi, and like them a lot. Will check out the others!

The Temptations feat. Rick James, bitch!
reply
Yes! Let's get funky! This I can get behind! The temptations were huge and Rick James is just that dude. Awesome combination.
