Thoughtful post from Weinstein.
“ For the moment, imagine that you see all DEI as Marxist and Maoist. Imagine that you see AOC and the squad as communists. Imagine that what you see in terms of 'social justice' or 'wokeness' or 'Postmodernism' or 'Gender affirming healthcare' or 'Palestinian Genocide' or 'Soros open society initiatives' or 'progressive DAs' or 'Anti-Whiteness' or 'defund the police' is straight up precursor to violent revolutionary Marxism.
The people crossing over to the cause of Trump with enormous checkbooks see this EXACTLY the way I have described in the above paragraph. You can pretend that this isn't so. Maybe they won't admit it to you or do so in public. But the stark truth of it is that what is driving a lot of surprising support for Trump and the Republicans has nothing to do with either. It's not all about Trump. Or the GOP. ”
We have the same problem in the UK with Labour. And I was in the past a Leftist and supporter of what I considered ‘left wing’ parties.
It was Covid that started to wake me up to the sinister underbelly of left wing politics when I was shocked and dismayed to see my supposedly liberal friends and family unquestionably support the lockdowns, vaccines, mandates, surveillance and other types of totalitarian measures.
I realised the deceptive but powerful communist rhetoric that often well meaning but naive people fall for. And when you try to explain the deception directly to them they cannot see it and stare blankly back as if under some kind of spell or brain washing.

I found this effect long ago when dealing with brainwashed people here in Argentina. The most terrifying effect I found was that even if THEY themselves arrive to the conclusion that the ideology, ideas and practices are flawed, out of emotion they will reverse that logic process and get back to their first most flawed argument like if nothing happened at all. I found out that you first must make people emotional about your ideology, to then proceed to use logic to seal the deal.

At the time of the pandemic many things came to light and opened many minds and understandings... in which I personally include myself generalizing the left or rather the politics of the left has always been deceptive, they rely on their radical discourse to bring together masses and use and manipulate them at will in things that make sense or that allow those same politicians to perpetuate themselves in power without going too far, such is the case of my native country Venezuela, 30 years of consumerism or rather narco-communism... with a society divide in half a country divided in half... more than 6 million migrants around the world... and an inflation whose numbers are infinite... for that country, like Cuba or Nicaragua, it has been the worst thing that has ever happened ..

There have been some great posts from Venezuelan’s on this platform describing the stark reality of living under the political system there. It has been a real eye opener for me. Thank you. 🙏

You should verify my statements about Venezuela

Arent extreme left and right both kind of wrong? Is AOC seen as a communist now?
reply
She was never a moderate She supports the green new deal. She wants to raise income tax bracket to 70 percent.
Extreme left is worse than anything including extreme right. What is extreme right? no one can define it
reply
AOC never got anything off the ground, from what I remember. Will she even be able to get re-elected?
reply
Yeah I’ve heard many people say that about AOC. The progressive left have a weird Marxist thing going on. I’ve seen it in my own family for example my parents who used to describe themselves as ‘socialists’ which they used to see as different from communism - they have recently started reading a communist magazine . Make of that what you will but I find it really disconcerting.

I didnt know that. What about omar? There are always different publications trying to sway your mind. Look at what trump is doing lol
reply
Omar should move back to her homeland, Somalia.
No one will miss her.
reply
Has Omar done something lately? I thought Omar and AOC were kind of a team. Girl power or whatever?
reply
The Squad along with Cori Bush, Ayana (no hair) Pressley and Jamaal Bowman, who recently lost his primary
The problem with Omar is her allegiance to Somalia is greater than to USA or Minnesota
reply
Huge population of somalian in Minnesota. How else do you think she was elected?
reply
Minnesota is a good example for restrictions on immigration
They have completely abandoned the worker, the proletariat.
Leftists are now like Lenin and Trotsky or Marx and Engels. Elitists and pseudo intellectuals who have contempt for the working class.
reply
You can see this by the disdain they have for a segment of working class people, which used to be the average "worker" that communists claimed they fought for and represented. Blue collar working folks. Even unionized folks.
For many socialists and commies being churned out of college, their idea of the working class is... themselves and their 18-25yo coworkers working to pay their student loans at Starbucks in a major city.
Some of these people believe they don't need farmers, because they can just get food at the grocery store, so fuck em and their demands.
reply
The working class is the backbone of american society.

The Left supported free speech when they were not in power.
Once they got in power they supported censorship and thought control.
When Chavez became President of Venezuela in 1999 the first he did was eliminate one legislative body to create a unicameral Assembly. Then he expanded the Supreme Court so the current one could not check and balance him. Then he made private ownership of firearms illegal. The military and police had a monopoly on guns and firearms.
