meshtastic toy radios are fantastic )) not a serious tool, fun to demonstrate, work inside buildings and outdoors, can be beefed up.
I'm really interested but have not bought any equipment yet. I'm an old amateur radio guy. What equipment do you recommend? DIY? Plug & Play?

i got the kits from Bitcoin Veterans p2p: 2 devices with 3D-printed cases, very basic design. briefly looking online, i am struggling to find a vendor who accepts bitcoin, but perhaps Bitcoin Veterans can ship a package of those - great for kids to play with. reportedly these range up to 25mi line-of-sight radius and 254km record. if by chance u still use facebook, check a link below 😅.
some people do not use a case, it still sits in a plastic baggie. i bet cryptocloaks could make a cypherpunky design. the assembly is 3 pieces put together in the correct order (something about chip frying if the antenna is not put on 1st)
