So, your theory is that they already had 113 economists and decided to staff up for the sake of this PR gimmick? Maybe.
Alternatively maybe they know they are screwed and are hoping one of the 500 can figure out a way to fix it.

There’s a chance that it’s just some sort of reorganization. One of the universities I was at did something like that.
On paper it looked like they had fired and hired tons of people, when really they were just shuffling the deck chairs around.

You should apply. It’s a government job; how hard can it be. You could probably work both jobs and still post on SN all day.

You’re probably right, but I’d rather work towards having zero fake jobs than having multiple.

I feel there are a lot of jobs where you could do SN all day. SN isnt that intrusive, you can post whenever you want.
