"Now the Russians have come to the conclusion that the consumption of gas in the world will increase and the tendency towards consumption of LNG has increased and they alone are not able to meet the world’s demand, so there is no room left for gas competition [between Russia and Iran].”
“The winner of the Russia-Ukraine war is the United States, and it will capture the European market, so if Iran and Russia can reduce the influence of the United States in the oil, gas and product markets by working together, it will benefit both countries.”
Together, Russia, Iran, and Qatar account for just under 60 percent of the world’s gas reserves.
Iran is set to import gas from Russia and use it for domestic consumption. On the other hand, Iran will deliver the same amount to customers at other parts of their borders.
That actually makes a lot of sense for Iran. Geographically, most of Iran's gas is produced near the Persian Gulf, yet most of the domestic consumption is to the north.

And in reading that last article, it appears that at one time Iran had a similar plan -- to supply gas to Russia from the south and for Russia in turn to ship gas from Siberia to Czechoslovakia.

Iran would need an alliance with China, and a promise that China would defend them for this to work (similar to how North Korea never gets invaded because China would defend them)

Very forward idea I just hope Iran 🇮🇷 doesn’t get played or the US of A comes in and fuck up the whole party. And again I hope African countries will get to benefit from this as well.
