He didnt have the right people beside him. Picking his family made it more difficult for him to see clearly.

I don't think that was wise, but that's not who was constantly undermining him.

They undermined him by not giving him the right advice at the right time. Compared to anyone else who could have done better.

Right, but they weren't the ones blatantly disobeying his orders and lying to him about what was going on. That administration was a complete mess and it was primarily because of people who were intent on making sure his policies could not be implemented.
Even if he had gotten good advice, those people would still have been a huge problem.
