This is my last day on SN and social media. My family and I have our 5 acre homestead in rural BC paid off with BTC, and we are leaving tomorrow to make the 2 day trip there. We will be off the grid and living off Bitcoin. We have a Blockstream satellite kit, and will just use our full node to withdraw BTC into our virtual bank account when needed. Our hobbies are gardening, mycology, watercolor, and hiking. Bye bye!

I'm about to be in a situation where I sell my home and rent for a couple years because of some work/school/life transitions.

After paying taxes/realtor fees/etc. I will have some net proceeds from the equity that are fairly sizeable.

Old school advice would be to save that for the next house, but I don't see real estate/home-ownership like I used to before going down the bitcoin rabbit-hole.

Anyone out there convert home equity to bitcoin and just rent indefinitely?

Having moved rom the machanic to plumbin department, I got the itch to buy more tools to put together a sufficient go bag. I reactivated my student discount with various tool companies. (I qualify through an apprenticeship program.) I already had many tools saved in wishlists from my last tool binge, but I have committed to mostly buying the things necessary for my go bag, and not just potentially useful in my future career.

Tonight my friend should come over for us to practice production of our livecast show "Saturday Night LIT".
