Not at all. I have not said anything like what you impute. The West has clearly been the leading imperialist over the last 5 centuries with the USA leading that imperialism over the last 80. Most Chinese are well aware of the Opium Wars and the humiliation that imposed upon China. How many Westerners are aware of that history? China is simply responding to the western imperialism that has been imposed on it.

Yes it is and its important we face the consequences of what the west has done and look at how those who have been affected might and now are responding. I don't blame China for not wishing to be subject to the hegemony of the west...but equally if China succeeds in continuing to build an alternative bloc many in the west are in for s surprise with the boot being on the other foot so to speak. There seems to be a lot of denial about the reality and imminence of Chinas rise and now open challenge the the west.

My biggest fear at this point is that certain interest groups in the West will ensure that the BRICS states expand faster than we would like and bring their ideas of human rights and humanism, let's call it that, to the world. a huge, energetic power bloc is emerging that hardly any of us can really assess so far
