Just a suggestion: maybe new users should only get one free comment in a specific thread, like an intro thread, which would be created weekly. Where if they haven't funded their wallet, existing users giving sats to new users would allow them to post. That would also limit spam to a single thread instead of flooding the front-page.

And on the other hand, anyone can come from anywhere (Tor) and write here when they pay real sats for that…
I totally understand that when someone does not fund their account and always use a new one to write for free they do not get any reputation. Do spammers need reputation?

@k00b there could possibly be unique personal sign-up links where those new users would get a chance to write for free, but allowing any new random account to write here for free does not sound right to me.
