While WaPo is calling out Harris over 'populist gimmicks,' the NY Times' Maureen Dowd slammed Democrats for executing a 'coup' to remove Biden from the 2024 ticket.

So, the MSM finally accepted it was a coup!
Or, they knew that Biden would come under scanner and might be impeached for helping to enrich his family with millions of dollars?

Apparently nobody actually read the Dowd piece (the coup one), because that column was in fact supportive of pressuring Biden to step aside.
The headline was tongue in cheek clickbait.
She ended the piece with this:
"Those who pushed out Biden should be proud. They saved him and their party from a likely crushing defeat, letting Trump snake back in and soil democracy."

That's an interesting take on it, I wonder how that would work to secretly buy every MSM journalist and what list they would use to figure out who's MSM and who's not.
Personally, everyone I know who votes democratic was jumping for joy when Biden stepped aside.
Perhaps Ms. Dowd and some other left leaning journos simply shared the same sentiment as many voters did.

That was my initial suspicion, but I think it has more to do with her ducking interviews and press conferences.
Trump is so good for their bottom-lines and it's obvious that she'll be a disaster in that respect. My suspicion now is that it's just good old fashioned rational self interest.
