India has outlined an ambitious 25-year vision plan for the space sector, which includes increasing the size of the space economy from around 2 per cent globally to 10 per cent in the next decade, setting up a human space station, and sending an Indian to the Moon by 2040.
Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro), expects the size of India's space economy to zoom from $9 billion currently to $45 billion in the next ten years, with the private sector playing a major role.
The current Indian Space Economy figures are nowhere close to that of NASA which is more than 130 billion USD in 2022
They will complete their mission till 2035.

India is now progressing very fast. Soon such news will be heard elsewhere. Like we reached Mars some time ago
reply
ISRO's Mangal (Mars) mission is much ahead than any other missions launched by other space agencies. While every other country was doing Moon landings, India aimed towards Mars!
reply
The more funding and support from other countries the better! Honestly it is a net benefit for society overall if we can get to Mars, not just being the first ones to go. Hopefully India can contribute to this area! Many smart people, and advancing technology.
reply
Thanks!
India successfully placed a spacecraft into Mars orbit, and became the first country to do so in its maiden attempt. That too without funding and too much support! ISRO knows how to do wonders in so much less money.

Which one of our Indian stackers is going to join ISRO and go to the moon?
Maybe by 2040 we will be able to zap sats to the moon.
reply
@grayruby. Haha.. if you get a chance of going to the Moon and have the option of taking one stacker with you. Who would you choose?

I know the answer. And the answer is @Undisciplined 😜

India at 9 billion and USA at 130 Billion. Huge difference! But the progress india is making in this sector is rapid
reply
I'm surprised to see the difference. More surprising is that India has been competing quite well. The Chandrayan is the proof of it.
I can only imagine that India would be leading in one sector by 2100 and that would be Space Economy. India have the best talent in it.
reply
Thanks for adding about the success of Chandrayan. In the last decade ISRO has been sending more satellites into the orbit than any other government space agency. India even held a record of sending 104 satellites into the Orbit in one attempt
reply
I've always respected ISRO because it's one agency which is far from corruption and this is one reason why it's doing wonders
reply
An Indian Man on Moon... why? what for? Going to the Moon was hip last century.
