GM,
I just received email notification from Fortress Trust LLC that 'Fortress Trust received notification from iTrustCapital that they will partner with a new custodian, Fortis Bank (now owned by BNP Paribas) for future offerings, and they (iTrustCapital) have asked us (Fortress Trust) to resign from our role as trustee to your IRA'.
I hold some of my BTC in my iTrustCapital IRA account, and some of it on my cold wallet. I buy and move BTC to my cold wallet via Swan, which also currently uses Fortress Trust LLC.
Does the community know the implications of this move (by the iTrustCapital IRA) away from Fortress Trust and to Fortis Bank?
Thank you.

Any IRA or so called "trust" (us) is a total bullshit.
Just self custody your all your BTC and thank me later.
NEVER ever let others to custody your BTC.

It was a partial 401k rollover, and I was planning to avoid the early w/d penalty until I turn 59 1/2 in 18 months... then move the BTC to self custody.
I have read many of your posts and I understand your reply means that this IRA is probably not a common method of investing in BTC. I'll consider a transfer. Thank you.

This remind me how years ago I withdrew all the fiat money from banks and pension funds and went full bitcoin (self-custody).
They all asked me: why are you terminating the account?
My answer was simple and dry: I start my own bank. fuck you all.

@heima641, folks from DarthCoin have the right idea. Trusts, IRAs, total nonsense! You're smarter than that! SELF CUSTODY your BTC, believe me, it's HUGE. Don't let others play with your money. Be your own bank! #MAGABitcoin #FinancialFreedom
