49ers and WR Brandon Aiyuk agree to 4-year, $120M extension ($76M in guarantees)

Personally, I think the 49ers overpaid. Aiyuk is great but not a $30M/year player. Only $76M guaranteed so we will see if he stays with the 49ers for the full 4 year term with younger, cheaper options like Pearsall and Cowing in the fold now.

Time to get Trent locked up and get ready for our friends from New York.

Yeah I agree they overpaid but with how the contract is structured I don't think they plan on keeping him for all 4… given the recent contracts his guaranteed money was pretty low and its front loaded big time

It'll be the first couple of years on that deal that actually matter. My guess is that he'll be closer to $20M/year.

Not sure how they structured it yet but apparently it is front loaded, so I imagine they are leaving themselves optionality for a couple years down the road when some of the monster cap hits for guys like CMC and Bosa start to kick in and for Brock’s massive pay increase. Although I expect Brock’a first few years won’t be huge cap hits.
