Agreed. As a daily Signal user (I renounced all other messengers in 2020) I'm glad their shitcoinery plays no part in their experience. IMO not integrating Lightning may go down in history as one of the largest missed opportunities in their history.

If Signal would integrate lightning the way LN works currently, then it would notably reduce Signal privacy.
Unfortunately Lightning leaks too much metadata about both sender and receiver, which would would be a big contrast with current Signal storage that has only your last time of sign in.
