WASHINGTON — The Federal Transit Administration on Friday signed a $893.3 million grant agreement for LA Metro’s planned light rail line in the San Fernando Valley.
The 6.7-mile, $3.57 billion East San Fernando Valley Light Rail project will largely follow Van Nuys Boulevard, and connect the bus rapid transit Orange Line to two Metrolink lines, the Ventura County Line in Van Nuys and the Antelope Valley line in San Fernando, as well as to Amtrak service in Van Nuys.
Having drove around the LA area having a light rail would be nice. It made Phoenix, AZ a bit more connected and easier to get around without needing to drive. But the one thing that worries me is theft and vandalism. Americans do a piss poor job being tough on this type of petty crime.

This will do wonders for traffic for the 20 years it will take to get built.
They have been building a light rail line in Toronto for the last 15 years and it is still not finished. It runs right across the city but there is only one line. This looks like it has a few connecting lines. Traffic in Toronto anywhere near where they were building that line was a disaster for years.
Hopefully it will be an improvement once it is done but during construction it can be a nightmare.

A shame all this places didn’t start doing it earlier.. like 100-200 years ago. You all would have wonderful lines and way less traffic and noise

Yes indeed a problem humanity has yet to solve. Sound traffic diversion during construction.
