Currently there are some LN liquidity providers (like @zerofeerouting) that stimulate nodes to open channels with zero fee.
Do you think there will come a point when there will be so much of these channels opened (with big nodes) that it will eventually be enough to open just 1 channel to some big node router and you'll have 100% free payments forever? Like jack mallers said the fee game is a game that will eventually lead to 0, so maybe here it will be the same.
I am asking this because currently there's a substantial (for a ln tx) fee with most wallets that I use (muun, blue, wos).
There was indeed a weird large drop of LN nodes a few months ago but the amount of nodes seems to be stable now.
