Welcome to the 10th edition of The Daily Zap — A Daily Newspaper (Kind of 🙏). Here, you'll get links to all of the latest news and updates mostly from the last 24 hours, divided in Sections (much similar to pages on a newspaper).
Let's unfold!

~Bitcoin News of the Day

  • It's interesting to note that each occurrence has resulted in returns decreasing by about 50% each time, so maybe $125,000 is a realistic target for November 2025, especially as that price and data align with the middle bands of the Rainbow Price Chart. It’s also worth noting that in all of those cycles, Bitcoin actually went on to experience even higher cycle peak gains!

Global Trade & ~Econ

  • Brazil’s harvest season that ends this month was virtually flat from last year, and exports surged, but the ongoing drought is already complicating the start of the 2025/2026 season, according to a report Monday by the Center for Advanced Studies on Applied Economics at the University of Sao Paulo’s agribusiness school.

~Politics_and_Law

  • It’s the first time that the world’s 20 largest economies formally agree to make a joint effort to modernise global governance institutions that were created about 80 years ago, reflecting a post-World War II reality.

~Stacker_Sports News

  • Taking his total career earnings to $514.8 million, Embiid would become the fifth member of the NBA’s $500M club, joining LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and 76ers teammate Paul George.

~Tech & ~Science

  • Google opened its defense against allegations that it holds an illegal monopoly on online advertising technology Friday with witness testimony saying the industry is vastly more complex and competitive than portrayed by the federal government.

~History with Mystery

  • Researchers have identified traces of cocaine in the brain tissue of two people buried in Italy in the 1600s. The discovery challenges longstanding assumptions about the drug, which was thought to have spread through Europe in the 19th century.

~Entertainment World

  • The "Saturday Night Live" Season 50 premiere date is Sept. 28. American actress and comedian Jean Smart, who stars in the American comedy-drama television series "Hacks" is slated to host the season's first show.

Wow big money for Embiid. That’s a lot of a guy who can’t win a playoff series.

This is exactly what came to my mind. I went on to search a little further and couldn't find a justice proof his price tag. Has he done anything substantial?
reply
No GM would have the balls to dump Embiid or try to negotiate with him.
reply
This is true but still a hefty price for a perennial loser.
reply
It is, but they also know that unless he has a career ending injury, they can trade him for a ton of assets.

What! Coffee prices will increase more?
reply
I have a feeling Bitcoin goes up forever.
reply
It will. There are no brakes on it.

I am excited for the big election games this year. Should make things interesting. I am ready to watch google fall. SNL still exists?
reply
Yes, SNL exists and it's the 50th anniversary.
reply
It's getting up there. I don't know who watches it now. Do people still watch network tv?
reply
Any predictions about what the G-20 creeps will do to "reform global governance"?
reply
Not a prediction but they are saying that they gonna reform UN, WHO, WTO, and all other such global autonomous bodies. I don't why they suddenly started to cry about reforms.
reply
A naive optimist might hope it's to prevent the kinds of global conflict we're seeing right now.
My guess is that it's not something so positive.

If expanding Bitcoin is not the goal, then the issue is power dynamics.
reply
Do you think it might be about expanding Bitcoin? I would think curtailing Bitcoin is more likely.
