Not sure how everybody feels about the old gunslinger now but still sad news.

That's unfortunate.
My dad has Parkinson's. While the disease is incurable, there are great medications, treatments, resources out there now that can help maintain a good quality of life in Parkinson's patients for a long time. Depending how quickly the disease is progressing, Farve could have another 20 years of life. Maybe more as new breakthroughs develop over that time.

Not a neurologist but of all the scary degenerative diseases I've seen this seems the most manageable.
Curious if those with trauma induced PD have much more milder cases as well.. Freddie Roach seems to remain quite functional as a boxing coach.

It can get pretty brutal towards the end but it's a slower decline and very manageable for many years if it isn't progressing rapidly. Michael J Fox was diagnosed in 1991 and he is still around. Not doing so great but the drugs and treatments have kept him alive.
Fox was only 29 when he was diagnosed though. It tends to be more rapid the older you are.

Yeah I definitely don't intend to minimize the disease, I just don't feel as useless/hopeless with these patients vs those with ALS, MS etc.
You just reminded me Back to the Future series deserves a rewatch...

😔 sad for him, no matter what you thought of someone, that's a horrible disease I wouldn't wish on anyone. Condolences to him and his.

I'm not a Favre fan, but I don't wish it on anyone, ever (even people I dislike a lot more).
