Malacca, Malaysia is famous for its chicken rice balls that pack a culinary punch. I have had this photo on my phone for ten years, but because of my stint as a Science teacher, I Googled if the balls were due to the chefs wanting to “compact” the flavour by reducing the exposed surface area of the rice. Looks like I think too much. These balls were invented to cater to workers and make it easier for them to bring to their workplace. Flawed Science theory or not, my dad tucked into this dish in anticipation.
