I don't do it by zaprank. Instead I do them by vote counts.
For a poll, the more votes, the more popular. Easy.

what a hassle! wouldn't it be better to call it 'most popular' instead of top?

Zaprank for polls don't work. If a poll is zapped by a few high value stackers but it gets hardly 5 or 6 votes, still you'll see it as a top rank poll. Polls are meant for votes so the more the votes, the topper the poll is.

I agree with everything except the term 'top', which in the context of stacker news is related to zaprank. You decide!
