The article references the need for images as an addiction, but I am sure the word addiction isn't quite right, even for the author.
You can smoke throughout the day, you can shoot up, and you can be drunk all day. But the need for visual noise (also actual noise) can be so pervasive and mundane while not being listed on any controlled substance list--'addiction' is a hyperbole that doesn't do its ubiquity justice.
I did not mean to direct it at stacking. Just dropping it as a share for anyone else who is tired of looking but still cannot help but look.
You could also call the need for noise as an addiction because there are those that will escape the requirement for noise in their environment through meditation or other such means. If it becomes necessary for life, without being a physiological necessity, isn’t it the definition of an.addiction? Getting rid of addictions takes you off the ever turning wheel.
