And rend your heart, and not your garments, and return to the Lord your God; for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness, and relents from evil.

Joel 2:13
PRAYER OF THE DAY
Dear God, Creator of all mankind, we come before You this new day, acknowledging Your goodness and mercy. As the Book of Joel teaches us, grant us to return to You with all our hearts, with fasting, weeping, and lamentation.
We acknowledge the times when we have strayed from Your path and failed to live according to Your teachings. We ask forgiveness for our transgressions and lack of compassion for others.
Help us to turn from selfishness and to seek justice and kindness in all our actions. Enable us to love and serve one another as You love and serve us.
May we reflect Your light and spread Your love wherever we go, Lord. Guide us in every step, strengthen us in every challenge, and fill us with Your Holy Spirit.
On behalf of all religious traditions, we commit to living in peace and harmony, always seeking justice and compassion in all that we do. May we be instruments of Your peace and reconciliation in this world.
Amen.
