So I finally got around to attaching an external wallet to my SN account. I followed this guide on how to setup a Coinos wallet and for someone not well-versed on Bitcoin or Lightning it couldn’t have been any easier.
I’ve been running with it all weekend with no issues. I wish I would have done it sooner. I’ve been worried about the end of my SN wallet and it feels like a (small) weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
I’m glad to be able to stay here on SN and look forward to the years to come.
(As an added bonus being able to use NWC on Nostr now is great too!)
It is so great you posted this. I feel as if some stackers think they need to be tech or bitcoin experts to do this. I hope you inspire many others.

That’s exactly why I posted my experience. I hope others see it isn’t bad at all to switch to an external wallet.
I admit I was intimidated at first and a little worried I would have to abandon SN after the transition.

Thanks! I’ve had to train myself that the zero in the upper right is meaningless now. At first I kept scaring myself when I saw my SN balance at 0 😅
I have an external wallet set up using nwc and it seems to be configured correctly for both sending and receiving, but now when I try to zap I get a pop up for a QR code to scan or copy. Is there something else I need to do to start using the connected wallet?
The NWC string needs to be entered on each device.

Its so nice right eventually plug in alby to become more sovereign but for now this set up is nice just remember don't leave more than u r willing to lose!
