Action is back on the pitch. A gap of two weeks due to international matches
involving national teams are the culprits. I think that a better placement for these
matches would be at the end of the season, so that we could concentrate on
national leagues and European fixtures.
After this small rant, let’s move on and get ready for tonight’s matches. A massive
match will be played in Madrid at 9PM CET. Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund
will repeat last year’s final. Real Madrid will have Carvajal out due to long term
injury though Bellingham, Mbappé, Vinicius, Valverde, Courtois et al are ready to
fight for the 3 points win. Borussia is not looking good at the Bundesliga, where
they are situated 7th, 4 points behind Bayern Munich. They will miss Adeyemi who
scored a hat trick and had to be taken off in the second half of the match against
Celtic due to a thigh injury.
Also, stackers should pay attention to the match in Paris between PSG and PSV
Eindhoven. If we look to the roster in both sides, you will think that it would be an
easy win for PSG, though they struggled to win Girona in the first week and lost
against Aston Villa in week 2. They have lost just one match at home in the last 37
UCL regular phase matches.
Finally, the third match chosen for Match Day 1 is Aston Villa vs Bologna. Emery
and his boys managed to win first two matches, and Bologna only could get a draw
against Shakhtar Donestk. Tough match for the Italians after visiting Anfield Road
last week. Things are not looking good for them at Serie A, where they are
positioned just 12th.
The rest of the matches are:
- Milan vs Club Brugge
- Monaco vs Red Star
- Juventus vs Stuttgart
- Arsenal vs Shakhtar
- Girona vs Slovan Bratislava
- Sturm Graz vs Sporting Lisbon
Enjoy the beautiful game!
