I am a fan of the Alien resurrection, because that was the first of the series I saw. 
Then I ended up watching the others, and really enjoyed the knife scene in the first one. 

The franchise specifically.

I suspect that's why all the other ones aren't very thought provoking - most people think exploring ideas are weird.
