Yes, the Cricket Pool is back and this time it's gonna be a pure survivor pool where winner takes all.

There will be a post about the set of rules and schedule for the pool very soon. But before that let me be a little more pumped up by showing your interest. Just drop in a comment.

Also, there are a few things I wanna discuss with @grayruby, @Undisciplined @Public_N_M_E @Carresan @siggy47.

In case you don't already know, Cricket season is never off. There are matches everyday. There are various tournaments, mostly bilateral but we also have many country specific leagues like Big Bash for Australia and IPL for India.

Considering the above, I'm planning to host a 'Monthly Cricket Pool' where we don't have a series instead we just have to predict on a set of daily matches for the week.
I'm also planning to host a survivor pool based on series/tournament. Women's Big Bash Legue in Australia is just around the corner, then we have Men's Big Bash, then IPL and in between one or two more leagues of less fame.
"Which one would be better a Monthly Pool or a series/tournament based?
What should be the optimal buy in fees considering I want more Stackers to join the pool?
What about rebuy Sats? A rebuy with the 10% of total pool rewards or it should be fixed?

Happy to be in. Regarding the system , I think that free entry and zapping the posts works well for the European football pool.

If you consider using the survivor format, a buy in option for the % of the pool or an established one sounds good for me.

We will see if I manage to go through first week

It works well but the pool reward doesn't reach to a substantial amount so, I'm thinking it's better to start with a buy in.

I thought the 10% rebuys were interesting and it seemed to work pretty well for juicing the pot. When I do my NBA In-Season Tournament Survivor Pool, I'm thinking it will be free-entry with a 3k buy back.

I think survivor pools are great for tournaments. It's a nice way to focus attention on a particular event.

No, I'm saying that I'm going to start my pool with free-entry.

Basketball might not have as much interest as cricket and you do a better job than I do of stirring up participants.

If you think a lot of people will pay 1k or 5k to join, then start with that.

I also like free entry but without a buy in the pool reward doesn't reach a substantial amount. That's why I want to add a buy in. A buy in also triggers more rebuys as I saw in the NFL survivor pool.

Whatever it is, I'm in. Cricket is the only sport where I have had demonstrable gambling success. I attribute that to my complete ignorance of the sport. I get crushed when I think I know what I'm doing.
