I'm talking about buying an item, such as a gadget or something for a hobby or for the house... not financial assets that you buy to store value, such as Bitcoin, gold, or art. Or tools you buy to work with.
You don't need to share details like price or brand... just the name of the item.
My biggest purchase was a image projector that we bought with the idea of watching movies from bed...we have used maybe twice in a year...
What about you?, what have you bought that you consider was expensive??
My house 🏠
BTW, this should be in ~meta?
Your house is not a gadget :)
The post is in meta .
It shouldn't be. Have you read the description before posting this in this territory. I'm not complaining, just a suggestion. ~meta is where you talk about Stacker.news.
I know my house isn't a gadget but your title of the post could be "What's the most expensive gadget you've ever purchased?"
Wouldn't that be better? Why waste time in writing 3 or 4 paragraphs when a single sentence could do it?
Agreed. This is probably better suited for ~AskSN
I spent 10k on building a home gym, and promptly tore my meniscus.
I can still do upper body, but need knee surgery now. /sigh.
Oh man. Hope you get better and can enjoy your own gym soon!
A triathlon bike
I recently bought a crib for my baby 🍼, I am a first-time father.
Congratulations!
Thanks, although I know I'll do my best.
I always wanted to learn how to build acoustic guitars, but as a hobby rather than being a professional. I purchased a band saw that I haven't used until now 😂
Hardware tools are a classic.
You think that you need a tool and that you will use it often...then, life happens.
Exactly... act out of excitement and not with reason
At home, our latest best purchase has been a ⚽ ball for our daughter, she started practicing months ago and says she loves soccer. And since she has had that ball, it has been a magical situation, she has fun, she practices, she sets herself challenges and that has made her improve quite quickly in her soccer practices.
And apart from that, I would like to add that a good purchase considers that apart from being durable, it is something useful, that is, that you use it constantly. I was very surprised that you called your mentioned item your best purchase, and yet you have only used it a couple of times in a year...
Car, I guess.
For CRYPTO is been either SHIB or BINK
My house.
And if houses don't count, then a chair.
Meh... My fancy sofa chairs? Computer?
A fancy watch.
Used only a few times...now days, not using it anymore.
My double bass was pretty expensive. And its considered bottom range too.
My kids. Two of them
We're they a purchased? 😅
cars... spent more than i like to admit.
a cheap car would probably take me there, but i have a soft spot for well built german machines..
never use debt to buy them.. not so dumb
