Honestly, if I have time for a game, its probably going to be a video game. Although its a bit of mix because mostly I just play card based video games....
There was a time that I used to play video games like hours on end, but really, who has the time anymore? Now, I'll play something on my phone for 10 or 20 minutes if I have some time to kill, but I really can't see myself getting into any type of game that takes any sort of time dedication. Maybe I'll have more time later in life, but for now, that's my answer.
How about you? what games do you play?

A long time ago I came across a quote that said the following.
"There is no such thing as a lack of time (we all have the same 24 hours per day) what does exist is poorly organized time."
That quote, to be honest, changed my way of thinking and perception of time a lot, and mainly about those phrases that we repeat to ourselves a lot on a daily basis, "I just don't have time, I didn't have time, If I have time I'll do it" and some similar ones.
Since I have constantly adopted that phrase in my head, "There is no such thing as a lack of time, only poorly organized time" I have managed to be more effective in many aspects of my daily life. I won't lie and say that I manage time with the precision of a Swiss watch, but it does help me daily to find focus, and to try to organize and carry out my daily activities in a better way.

That's exactly why I'm always able to make time for the important things. My wife, my job, and going to the gym.
Video games can take a back seat for now.

I think it's perfect how you do it, in my case I could say that I do the same, I manage my time week by week in the best way possible, there are good weeks and others not so good, but in the end all good because I keep living, so something gets done... I always liked games, now I play with my daughter, I also make time for my exercises, my studies, my fiduciary work, my wife (I should have named her first, hehe what you have to take care of the most is the wife, otherwise someone else takes care of her ✍️) and as I already mentioned I try to manage my time the way I can, so I allow myself to do a little of several things during my week. ehem I refuse to just be a working slave who sees his wife and son only on weekends and partially. NO! I REFUSE

You have restructured your life away from video games toward something else.

Great reframing story. If you reframe your problems they often solve themselves or make it very easy to stop them. You told yourself to go positive rather than negative, every thing you attracted is positive.

I like 3M Bookshelf games. They are kind of old school and you cannot find them anywhere, anymore. Now, they are incredibly expensive. They still are some of the best games ever made.

I just looked them up, I haven't seen them before. Besides Chess and backgammon I'm unfamiliar with them. Although, the concept looks really cool. The idea of making your game boxes look good on a shelf is pretty awesome, I'm surprised no one else started doing something similar.

3M sold out to another game maker named Avalon Hill. I saw some of the same game titles, but the quality of the pieces and gameboards has drastically declined.
