I know many Stackers don’t drink, but I was thrilled at the wide array of alcoholic choices at a dinner buffet in Japan
Went to a place called Beer Buffett in South Korea, but that place looks like it takes the cake.

Wah the name itself sounds intriguing! I hope that I will be able to visit there one day
reply
It looks like a large variety of saki from karai to maroyaka. I like the warm karai types, myself.
reply
Oh do you like Otokoyama sake? That’s my favourite
reply
I really don’t remember brand names. We had a sakiyasan across the street and bought what they had on hand. I liked the dry taste saki, so he recommended some really good saki for heating up.
reply
Did you pick the big bath option?
reply
Our room had an onsen that overlooked the surroundings. But I don’t think it qualifies as a big bath haha
reply
Have you ever done a capsule hotel?
reply
Of course! I loved it.
Did that to save on travelling costs. Cheap and memorable experience
reply
I liked the one in Tokyo. It had a big bath that had a view from the top of the building.
reply
Are they wines or ?
reply
Shochu to be exact!
It is typically distilled from rice, barley, sweet potatoes, buckwheat, or brown sugar
reply
Good stuff?
reply
They look like saki, rice wines.

I'm pretty sure you're supposed to mix a little of each in the same glass and drink it.
That's what I used to do as a kid at McDonald's, I'm pretty sure the same rules apply here.
reply
See, alcohol unleashes the inner child in all of us
reply
Do you live in Japan, or just visiting?
reply
Buffet as in all you can eat/drink?
Alcoholic beverages are often extra in Korean buffets.
reply
Alcoholic beverages are typically charged a separate price in Japan too.
This was an all-you-can-drink because we were staying overnight at a ryokan and our package comprised the dinner buffet
reply
That makes sense. Ryokan seem to have been big on the package deals, especially if you went in a largish group. Although, I never heard of the all-you-can-drink packages. I knew a lot of people that would have made them unprofitable.
