Really? I haven’t noticed an option for that in Damus or Primal. How do you do it?

I don't use these clients, but many others have the delete feature, it's a standard one (https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/blob/master/09.md).
I mainly use Gossip, Coracle, Voyage, and all them support deletion request.
You can also use https://delete.nostr.com.

It's already possible, I do exactly that when I screw up with a note.
