INTRO
The first exploration of my Bitcoin Ecosystem Map. In this case, the target audience is mobile non-routing node users such as Blixt or Zeus that is looking for channel counterparty to open a LN channel with.
these lists must be maintained and updated - DarthCoin
I'm open to addition, removal & improvement of certain part of this post as soon as SN implements perpetual edit.
- Channel counterparty listed here are 100% private channel-friendly (trust me bro)
- Routing fees can change at any given moment, make sure to set a maximum limit of your maximum routing fees you're willing to pay (at least it's possible on Blixt)

In general, opening a direct channel towards integrated LSP of a certain wallet can have multiple benefits such as :
- Quicker pathfinding time
- Increased payment success rate
- Less fee towards the users of a certain wallet (that have the same counterparty ofc)
It also make sense to open a direct channel towards a certain services or apps that users often interact with (mainly to save Sats in routing fee).
But, in Alby Hub case, since the LSP model is open even tho there is a direct channel to a specific LSP, the Alby Hub users could choose a different channel counterparty thus the payment path is (probably) unaffected.
In Swap Market case, the users can open a direct channel towards their preferred Swap Taker to have multiple benefits such as :
- Quicker pathfinding time
- Increased payment success rate
NOTES FROM NODERUNNERS
I advertize on Magma, but could open a channel directly - Middle Way
To begin with. It is auto managed. As more sats go to my side, the fee will get lower. You now have 50 ppm discount for inbound flow. - Middle Way
I never succeeded in opening taproot private channel, and I tried, I thought it is fault of my peers, maybe I was wrong - @xmrk2
just changed it manually to 100, but it is dynamically adjusted by LNDg. Also set inbound fee to -50, which is more relevant right now. - @xmrk2
difficult question, could you say "up to 2k ppm"? But I would prefer people to look at my avarage fee on amboss for example - @xmrk2
Yo, Yea sure we accept channels - @justin_shocknet
yes, private accepted - @megalithic
Remember that these default fees can and will change at any time... so if you are setting up your viewers to "expect" certain fees, I'm not sure that is a great idea... - @megalithic
i just might suggest making a note for your users that your ppm values are "as tested on nov 7 2024 and could change" or something - @megalithic
Some nodes could refuse to accept private channel for several reasons :
- Private channel can't be used to route payment (inefficient liquidity)
- It even worse if most (if not all) balance are pushed to the more-online node (locked liquidity)
- They wanna make money (LSP business)
- Avoiding force close risk (unless if most people use persistent mode, which they don't)
