I have never been that in to politics. I grew up around poor white people who mindlessly followed the blue team. So that's what I did for my first 20 years as an adult.
I was crushed the first time Trump was elected. Politics aside, he just seemed like a real POS to me. I go by how people make me feel. The vibe I get from him is... An egomaniacal, disgusting man child, that seeks attention harder than anyone I have ever witnessed. So naturally, I thought this was the end of the world.
Now I am an off-grid Bitcoin mining, stacking, desert dweller. I could care less who the president is and neither does Bitcoin. Done and done. But, also...
What will this transition look like? May it be peaceful? Maybe it be graceful? If I dream a dream of a most ideal reality, what would that look like? I have to be true to my feelings. In order to manifest this future, I must believe it can be achieved. What would that look like?
Trump is definitely primarily self interested. He is somewhat an outsider politically, but not really. Think, annoying red headed half step cousin. He has the connections and he likes to get what he wants. He is a celebrity. So he gets to be president. He is clever, and incredibly foolish. He acts on emotion, and he always wants more friends.
Bitcoin is a grass roots movement. Maybe the biggest one ever. We are building the future. This is inevitable.
I think Trump is clever enough to see this. And he wants us to like him, BADLY. He wants to be the hero. He may be able to fill that roll, while still being an egomaniacal puppet. Let him be our puppet. He only stands to profit financially, and socially by following through with his Bitcoin related promises.
So in my dream, yeah still he's a dick. But if he is even a bit of an outsider, he could be a great pawn for Bitcoin and help us have a peaceful transition.
If the government creates a btc reserve, that's amazing. Even if they push a cdbd, it will still help Bitcoin. The world will go nuts and there is no supply. Soon, exchanges will go dry or explode. And I'll be here converting sunlight into fresh new sats. There is no way for Bitcoin to lose, so why not make it as agreeable as possible.
So yeah, I can't stand Donald Trump.
And yet,
he will be our foolish hero

TL;DR: He might be a dick, but he could be our dick.
reply
That's how I should have written it honestly. Would have been way better received. I meant that he sees himself as the hero and for us, he may be a useful idiot.

But we can’t control him being a dick. He’ll be a dick to us too when it’s no longer in his interest.
Still good point though.
reply
Definitely could be. I am hoping if we are loud enough he will get sucked in for real. Never know. I sure don't. I just like thinking about possibilities.

Trump is definitely primarily self interested.
So is everyone else, and that is good so!
reply
This is true. We keep each other honest. Thats why it all depends if he is part of a faceless machine or partially acting as an outsider. If he's an outsider, it will benefit him personally/everyone to support Bitcoin it seems.

All any of us really want is a sane living environment.
My standards for "sane living environment" are fairly normal—I don't want a transvestite reading to kids at the local elementary school. I didn't think this would be a lot to ask, but here we are. 🤷
reply
Yeah. It's truly stranger than I ever could have imagined. From all angles.

You combine optimism with honesty ~ and its a damn good take on things. I hope you are right!
reply
Thank you. That's what I am going for. Showing that there is a balanced sensible optimistic way through. And I believe we all play a big roll in manifesting our realities, whether we know it or not. I spend a lot of time considering outcomes and time lines. I want to pull in my favorite reality, not one based on an attachment to old conditioning.

if you want to get a real sense of the man, see how his grandchildren talk about him. They love him and admire him and he loves them. A billionaire that has everything and got shot at twice nearly died, and continues to risk his life in a job where people continually want him dead doesn’t track with pure self interest, the self interested egomaniac by definition doesn’t want to give his life up. Challenge your presuppositions

I see Trump as an excellent mirror, people project on him soo so so much, its funny to watch. Gemini is mercurial, very tricky stuff that is.
reply
I agree. It's all a mirror. We have to own our shadows to grow.
reply
May the light diminish the shadows in this upcoming season of light! Best time in the world to reach spiritual heights!

So what matters is the fiat price of bitcoin. I see.
reply
No, adoption matters. And the more support there is globally the better. And us government holding is probably going to signal to the world it might be something worth looking into. I don't care about usd price. I want people to trade with me using it.

I don't know about hero but how about useful ally.
I like your perspective.
reply
For sure.

Will he be our hero? Did his shitcoin ever take off?
reply
I agree. I don't have heros. In his story, he is probably always going to be the hero is what I mean.. pure ego. I think he will die in that place. And it would work out well for Bitcoin and people building the future.
reply
Did you read the post? What does shitcoin have to do with it?
reply
I did read it. I also agree with you in many ways. He is only interested in furthering himself. So we shouldnt rely on him.
reply
Yeah. I am just saying I think we deserve things to go well for once. And I want to manifest a better future. I don't rely on anyone..
Like I said, Bitcoin doesn't care. And I don't care.
