I believe this. To me this looks like a sacrificial pick, to give the Senate someone they can reasonably refuse, allowing him to get others through more easily.

He would also need to give up his congressional seat and there would be a special election to fill it (probably won't be an issue getting another R in FL but still).

Oh his seat is the most conservative in Flordia its something stupid like R+45 lol
The second more conservative seat is Michael Waltz who he already has added to his cabinet from Flordia!
