Wow, they are doing a lot of things differently, now-a-days. Every now and then I rode the local train from Shizuoka to Tokyo and on to Narita. That was a long ride with the bus from Tokyo to Narita, then after those days from Narita to the airport. I spent a lot of time looking out the windows of that train.
In those days, saving money was very important to me.
I get what you mean. I used heavily the Seishun 18 ticket to save on transportation costs. I also boarded overnight buses so that I didn’t have to pay for lodging haha
