I'm not sure if you guys caught this, and I should have posted about this earlier, but James Harden passed Ray Allen to become the second most 3 points made all time in league history, just behind the best shooter ever Steph Curry. It happened on Sunday's game versus the Jazz. No big celebration like when Steph passed Ray. When asked in an interview on whether Harden thinks he can pass Steph, he told the reporter "I probably won't catch Steph". Being number 2 all time is still one great feat! Big congrats to James Harden for this accomplishment!
I felt I need to add this one in before the edit timer expires. KD watching James' first 3 point made in the league (which was assisted by KD) and giving James his flowers.
He played for my favorite team "Houston Rockets" for many years and perhaps if the Warriors generation hadn't existed, he would have been a champion to my delight. Congratulations on your achievement, which is as great as your stepback

I followed the Rockets and they were my favorite team during the Yao Ming + TMac years, but I slowly stopped following them when they went into rebuilding. I didn't like the way they played iso-ball during the D'Antoni+Harden years, as I prefer to watch team play and always thought relying heavily on iso couldn't win championships.

I completely agree with you. Another flaw I see in the teams led by D' Anthoni is the defensive part. It is practically impossible to be an NBA champion if you fail in this regard

Yes, agreed, I'm also in the camp of "defense wins championships".

This is going to become like QB stats, where the career leaders are just the most recent guys to retire, because the volume has changed so radically.

Yes, the game has completely changed. The number of 3 point attempts taken each game seems ridiculous when compared to the game back then.

Really, it's amazing that Reggie and Ray stayed up there as long as they have.

Really shows their greatness.

Going to be hard for anyone to catch Steph once he is done but with the prevalence of the 3 in the game now who knows.

With the way the young guys are taking 3's these days, it's hard to say what the record will be far into the future, but I do expect Steph's record to sit there for a long while.
