Today I learned that opening a door at 8pm during the week costs almost €300
reply
Did you get locked out?
reply
0 sats \ 9 replies \ @ek 21 Nov
yep, forgot my key for the first time in a situation where calling the locksmith was the only option
valuable lesson
reply
Ouch, that is super expensive! Couldnt go around the back? Or did you lock your keys in your car?
reply
20 sats \ 7 replies \ @ek 21 Nov
I forgot all of my keys inside and it's an apartment, there is no back
I used to have a spare key in my wallet but I must have removed it at some point
reply
They used to have spare plastic keys you could keep around in case of emergencies. Might be something worth looking into. Or put a spare under a flowerpot or something. 300$ is way too much for that kind of mistake!

I am way too paranoid for that

Maybe kicking down the door would have been cheaper, haha
reply
Leave a set of keys at your work. No one should dig through your desk. Driving back to work isnt the worst that could happen if you forget your keys.
Why? That seems pretty unreasonable! Is it a state coercion thing?

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well. I wanted to talk about AI, specifically ChatGPT. It has many advantages, but one thing struck me deeply. During today's assignment, there were students using ChatGPT—a practice I find truly unfortunate, as it highlights the dangers of AI. In your opinion, should I report it to the teacher?
reply
dangers of AI
Watch the documentary "Idiocracy" and you will find out
reply
I don’t think so. Either the teacher understands that the student is using ChatGPT or he doesn’t and the student will reap the full rewards of learning nothing (of course, he may be learning how to make the best AI queries [a valuable skill, itself]). Cheating has its own rewards, usually negative, even when not caught. Let the student get his just desserts.
reply
Let the student get his just desserts
Is not about that. Is more than just a meaningless punishment. Think about what will happen in 30-50-100 years if all the new generations will start using only shitGPT for everything.... IDIOCRACY 100%
Not talking also about the propaganda with shitGPT. It can be fed with whatever information they want and put THAT information in the young brains. Including communism. I wrote some time ago my position about this all bullshit so called "AI" (aka artificial idiocy) - #171338
Let's cut the crap: this is not any "intelligence" is just others data.
When I was young and studying my shitGPT was hors and hours reading in a library. A REAL PoW. Thing that young kids nowadays don't even know what is a PoW. Their brain will shrink and shrink until will not be able to do anything with it. Will be just zombies controlled by few...
Here is a clear example
reply
Don’t get me wrong, here. I think that the students will fail in all sorts of different ways in life if they use sh*tGPT as the source of their work. They don’t learn how to research, think or write. That is their reward. As a prior instructor, I could see plagiarism, BS and academic circular reasoning whenever it pooped is ugly head up ( sometimes all at once). Those students will punish themselves with their own mistakes and never reach their goals because of their reliance on cheats. I also understand your point about propaganda!! It seems that the LLM trainers are using the leftist newspapers and magazines for a lot of their training, which gives the AI a hugely biased POV, which the communist trainers really like. I refuse to use these Ai creations because while they are artificial, they are not intelligent.
Those videos were great! I didn’t see them when I wrote the above. I have seen that sh*t in action before and it’s totally ridiculous.

I know that comparing Bitcoin with world currencies is generally frowned upon here, but I'm excited that $100k is less than 2% away! I've been buying Bitcoin since 2017, and the cheapest I ever got it was for around $5K or so. It just feels good to have that 20x on my investment. I also think that once it crosses $100K, it will get a lot of publicity, and with that will come new buyers and the price should go even higher.
reply
i am excited for newcomers, but there will be many more wanna-get-rich-quick shitcoiners than newcomers; it will be imperative to pick and choose whom to educate and who is only interested in "dat monay!"

What's wrong with being interested in money? Before Bitcoin, we used to live paycheck to paycheck, getting nowhere. Now we have a better quality of life, for us and our children. Why is that a bad thing?
reply

money has become people's god. even with bitcoin, most still view it thru the money god lens. the money psyop is very strong and very old.
it's difficult to disconnect; retreats are necessary, like camping, meditation, reading fictional stories, dreaming, and thinking why money is even necessary...

I cannot humiliate my dogs by putting clothes on them. I would like to think they have some pride and would not suffer this embarrassment, but perhaps I'm being selfish.

You're absolutely right! I don't like it either. An animal is an animal, not a person! If they don't want to get wet, they won't go out in the rain. If they do, it's because they don't care.

Hi, I'm back from my English trial final exam. I don't know my score yet, but I managed to finish all the exercises. By the way, congrats to Bitcoin hodlers—once again, Bitcoin proves that fiat = s**t. I love freedom and independence, and I couldn’t care less about bureaucrats. I'll figure things out my own way and always come out ahead. After all, I’m from Poland—a country that has always known how to beat the system. Let’s keep that tradition alive!

Congratulations!! Didn’t we all, already know that fiat = sht, in fact, bankster sht? If we didn’t know that we probably would not be here.
