When you look at this hunting scene, what's the first feeling that comes to mind? Is it a positive feeling like nostalgia or pleasure for places and times of the past, or a more negative feeling like regret, sadness, or anger?
It would be perfect if you can explain why in 2-3 sentences.
Context: the dog brings the killed bird to the hunter.
Nostalgia and a sense that both the bird and the dog are beautiful.
As an aside, I think most of the sadness / anger / angst that people have towards hunting is misplaced. I understand that they are being compassionate and I fully understand (and respect) that they love animals......however that bird had a great life and painless death.
The real horror is modern factory farming....cages where chickens are born into the cage, pumped full of food, and then mechanically dismembered....all while never being free or even seeing the sky. Yet we don't "feel sad" when we see the packaged meat at the store.....

Today I have a negative feeling when I see this type of scene. I think as I get older I feel like I have more mercy. I remember that I easily watched those documentaries about life in the jungle, but today, I have no intention of going through that experience

It depends on who I'm empathizing with in the picture. I empathized with the dog first so I thought "good boy."

neat that you said "who" in the picture. they're both likely thinking & experiencing. my first sense was "what" in the picture.

I feel a bit of sadness for the bird that is dead or suffering. While I see it is natural for the dog to want to hunt a bird, my compassionate feelings are what I notice the most. I never have been a hunter, so there is no nostalgia.
