An interesting question I think you can always leave audience with is —
How can sports help grow Bitcoin adoption beyond limits?
reply
That's a great question! Let's see if we can remember to talk about it.
reply
Well, you could make betting by BTC a thing to do! I suppose facilitating gambling with sats or BTC would gather some interest for the gamblers in the house. Making side- bets with each other might not entail any state interference.
reply
It already is
reply
Oh, you mean that there is side-betting going on or that their is online bookies here?
reply
They still need to develop a full lightning network sports book, but there are several websites with sports betting:
  • Freebitcoin mostly has soccer, but they put up other events seemingly at random
  • Nitrobetting is a pretty traditional sports betting site that uses bitcoin (not exclusively), but it doesn't allow lightning payouts.
  • Predyx is a new prediction market site that uses the lightning network and has a few sports outcomes.
  • The makers of Predyx are working on a LN sports book, but it isn't up and running yet.

It is a good thing I learned about gambling long ago in the dog tracks and Vegas!! I don’t do it any more. When I was gambling, I would only take as much as I could loose, loose it, then quit. I figured out that there was only the house to gamble against and they always win.

Edit: How can Sports help grow Bitcoin adoption beyond limits and at a very fast pace?
Don't talk just leave your audience with the question in the end of the podcast.
reply
As you wish
reply
Ahh sorry I mean it's a suggestion not a direction for you guys. I think this question will create a great connect with the audience for this week. I also feel that you should always end the pod with a question and ask the response in the comments.
reply
You could also make an offer at the end of a podcast. Such as a side-bet or something similar. What about making pools?
reply
Making random wagers at the end could be fun. We do have several running bets, but I usually forget to bring them up.
reply
And I forget that we made them. I am glad you are keeping track. Hopefully you don’t get temporary amnesia when I win.

We are involved in three that come to mind:
  1. Another new NBA champ this season
  2. All new MVPs going forward
  3. The Vikings will lose another division game
UEFA pool is back next week. I am planning to post the fixtures tomorrow, so stay tuned!
reply
I will also wait for it.

Awesome!

reply
We're recording Blok'd Shot right now! I'll drop this in.
