I’ve learned a lot over the last couple of years that while Neil deGrasse Tyson can explain complex things to the average person when it comes to his field he isn’t well accepted. For a man like himself who is so smart what does he know about the start up industry and making billions? He doesn’t.
Elon has taken Starship and crafted it to not only go to Mars but also go to the moon, space travel around the moon for guests, and launch his Starlink Satellites. When you break it down Elon has the money and resources to do it and the government is consistently looking to him to help soooo Neil deGrasse Tyson stop being an idiot.
if u so smart, why u not rich...?

lol kinda think it’s cause the field doesn’t make new stuff besides theories 😂

Tyson is probably right- I imagine the economics won't work out well in the end.
It's still freakin awesome that someone like Elon is willing to risk their fortune to try it though... we need the dreamers.
Tyson would not be getting shat on if he had worded his skepticism in a more encouraging way.
As our gov continue to rack up debt into bankruptcy it might be harder to justify in the future.

Well did you see Larry Page come out and say he would rather leave his fortune to Elon to go to Mars over charity?!

Yup, and not surprising... charities are terrible at capital allocation while Elon is the best entrepreneur perhaps ever.

Charities are like government. Very inefficient, and then you wonder where the funds have gone. Its just a matter of time before all of the charities have some kind of scandal.

Although Neil deGrasse Tyson has a complete theoretical basis, which cannot be denied: -- about the complications of a trip to Mars, how to survive in an unfavorable environment and refuting the hypotheses of how Earth formed Mars... Science progresses with dreamers and visionaries
